Poster Presentation Awards
Three young scientists received the Poster Awards at OCUIC-2016.
- Ms. Sayaka Kira, Osaka City University
“ELECTRONIC AND MAGNETIC PROPERTIES OF POLYNUCLEAR (NITRONYL NITROXIDE-2-IDE)GOLD(I) COMPLEXES LIGATED WITH POLYPHOSPHINE” (P-2)
- Mr. Tommaso Francese, Universitat de Barcelona, Spain
“ON THE MECHANISM OF BISTABILITY IN PROTOTYPE PDTA MOLECULE-BASED MAGNETS” (P-5)
- Mr. Takeshi Yamane, Osaka City University
“A QUEST FOR QUANTUM SPIN MEMORY DEVICES WITH SIZABLE ZFS HYPERFINE STRUCTURES: ELECTRONIC STRUCTURES OF BIIMIDAZOLATE RHENIUM COMPLEXES AS STUDIED BY SINGLE CRYSTAL ESR SPECTROSCOPY, SQUID MEASUREMENT AND QUANTUM CHEMICAL CALCULATIONS” (P-27)
We are pleased to announce that we have the Osaka City University International Conference in 2016 (OCUIC-2016) on Molecular Spins and Quantum Technology, at Conference Room (10F) in OCU Media Center during the period of Aug. 31−Sept. 4, 2016 in Osaka. OCUIC-2016 can date back to the first International Conference in 1993, then once per year in various academic fields hosted and sponsored by Osaka City University.
The subjects of “Molecular Spins” and “Quantum Technology” have also been actively investigated in the division of molecular materials science/graduate school of science. These groups have also held several international conferences by themselves since 2003, in commemoration of the lecture of Prof. Masatoshi Koshiba, Univ. of Tokyo, the Nobel Prize winner for Physics in 2002.
In the evening on Aug. 31, we will open a poster section on “Recent development in materials science”. The poster session will be the heart of OCUIC-2016, and students from universities in Kansai area are encouraged to participate in the poster section; “Poster Awards” will be given for excellent poster presentations.
From the morning of Sept. 1 and 2, the lecture sessions will start, concentrating on the topics of syntheses and properties of new molecular spin systems, and also methodological development of molecular quantum technology including quantum computing/quantum information processing.
In the evening of Sept. 1, “Welcome party” will be held at the 1st floor of OCU Media Center.
Sept. 3, the last day of the lecture sessions will be a special day for high school students and citizens. We will invite distinguished scientists from UK and USA. Their lectures at Abeno Harukas, New Landmark of a 300 m skyscraper will be relevant to messages to young generations and to quantum world in ordinary life.
We look forward to welcoming you, hoping that you will enjoy your time in staying in a highly modernized/integrated city of Osaka where the first ancient capital of Japan was founded.
With best regards,
Prof. Keiji Okada
Prof. Kazunobu Sato
